I am currently in a state of anger as i cannot figure what to do or how to fix this issue. This whole week i was able to play my quest on PCVR. However, from yesterday it just decided not to work, like the good ol oculus software it is.
Now, before you ask. Have you even tried looking it up? Yes, but the problem i am facing does not seem to have happened to anyone. Except a forum which i had looked into which stated the same issue with the software opening then closing and doing it all over again. However, the issue did not come with the same problems i was having, as it had something to do with his AirLink. On the other hand, my problem has nothing to do with AirLink, and only just the quest app in general.
I have another theory that could of lead to this issue, but i will say i have been on computers for a lengthy time period. But, i have mostly never encountered this with my computer before.
The day of the "disaster" i had powered my computer on, but while in the loading screen waiting for me to be able to log onto windows. I simply stated. "Scanning and Repairing drive C". After a while i forgot about this until i began going onto PCVR. I had switch the quest link on, the app had opened on my computer. But, it immediately closed afterwards, then opened again and closed. It repeated that process many times so I had decided to restart my computer as this just felt like a normal day to me, as at this point the Oculus Software had given up on me. After restarting my computer it then again said "Scanning and Repairing drive D" but this time is was my D drive? I started getting a little worried as again i had never seen this before. And yes i know its just a procedure that windows does with your computer. I just thought it was a little weird seeing as this had never happened before. I began turning my oculus link on, and the issue still exists. However, this time i opened it manually and it began checking for the oculus link status, which then lead to the softwaresaying "Cant reach meta quest link status". Which was a great feeling, knowing there is more than one problem. So again i searched it up, did everything people said, that would fix the issue it but, nothing. I have tried mostly everything now, uninstalled the program. Repaired it, etc. Here is a video i have recorded to show you what is going on:

Hello there, @tami.23994! We can definitely empathize with your frustration and would love to team up with you in figuring this out. Based on what you are reporting, this sounds very similar to @Lewis_VR situation and so we want you to also remove all Oculus files and start with a fresh install. If you follow the steps below, they will walk you through this process:
- Disconnect the Rift/Link cable from the computer
- Disconnect your computer from the internet
- Backup any necessary content
- You can find steps on how to do so by clicking here.
- Reboot into Safe Mode
- You can find steps on how to do so by clicking here.
- Uninstall the Oculus PC app using the Control Panel
- You can find steps on how to do so by clicking here.
- Delete all Oculus folders from the following folder:
- C:\Program Files
- Remove any Oculus folders from the following locations:
- C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData
- C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Local
- C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\LocalLow
- C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Roaming
- C:\OculusSetup-DownloadCache
- Note: The AppData folder is usually hidden. Use these steps to access AppData.
- Press Windows key + R to launch the Run dialog window.
- Type %AppData% in the Run box and click OK or press Enter
- File Explorer will launch to the AppData\Roaming subfolder.
- Click AppData in the File Explorer address bar to show all three subfolders in the AppData location.
- Restart your computer in normal mode
- Reconnect your computer to the internet
- Install the Oculus PC app again using the setup tool from our website here
- Reconnect the Rift/Link cable and re-test the headset

Hello everyone. We understand there seems to be a similar issue with the Meta Quest app between you all. Not to worry. We would love to assist. We want to make sure we proceed accordingly with this and make sure all troubleshooting steps have been exhausted. First, please let us know the following:
- Are you able to launch other applications?
- Does the problem occur with more than one app?
- When did this start?
- Were any changes made?
- Is the Home Environment having any issues?
We appreciate everyone's time and eagerly await a response. Talk soon!

1. Yes, I can launch other applications
2. Only occurs with the quest link
3. I noticed it yesterday when I tried to play
4. No changes have been made since it was working 32 hours ago
5. no other home environment issues
to hopefully help you understand the problem I've uninstalled it and repaired it multiple times without any luck. as well after the rapid opening and closing of the app on my pc it will eventually open and say that my hardware isn't compatible when I haven't changed a thing. on my oculus I can see my pc over air link, but it won't open, and my pc never shows under wired connection (how I usually play)

just to update you all, my dad has successfully helped me in stopping the meta quest app from crashing then opening as well as the quest able to connect fine. However, i still have not tried playing the vr.
What did my dad do?
He uninstalled the app, then found everything oculus wise in the appdata/ local/local low and removed it perminantly. Then we fully installed it and now the software seems to be in good condition.
once you have re-installed the software, and it asks for your oculus account via browser to make you log in. you should hopefully good to go.
Again, as i will say, i have not 100 percent confirmed it has worked as i am still waiting on my quest to charge then i will test it out. But, i will say that oculus needs stuff like this to stop happening, as it is quite frequent for me.

Hey there, @Lewis_VR, and thank you for keeping us updated on how things are looking. As we continue to dig into this concern deeper, definitely let us know how your games appear when launched! If you haven't already @fear.madd, we do recommend making sure all the PCVR files are removed and attempting to install the software once more. From there, if any issues still remain, we do ask that a bug report is submitted here, for our engineers to keep track of this activity.

After you've uninstalled the app you also need to delete the following folders for a clean install:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Oculus
C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Oculus
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Oculus
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\OculusClient
- C:\OculusSetup-DownloadCache
