We went there twice during our trip. Fresh seafood and generous portion! Price was very reasonable too, with warm welcoming from the attendants. They have a simple decoration and the place is a bite noisy. Worth trying if you love seafood 🦞

Great experience in general. Nice atmosphere. Our waitress Elsa was extremeeely nice. She made the dinner just perfect. Ordered prawns , mussels and some sides. Prawns came a bit overcooked and Elsa corrected them (cooked a new one) without me even asking for it. Mussels on the other side were good from beginning . In general food was good, but special though. In the end Restaurant does pay a lot of attention for a review in Google)

Fresh seafood, friendly service (especially from Alexandra) and a great vibe make this restaurant a popular one. Advance booking is essential! The Seafood Combination is the signature and you’ll see the dish on every table! Also the mussels in white wine; and prawns in butter and clams were tasty too! We even came back a second time for Happy Hour oysters (€1.25 per piece) so don’t miss it!

Amazing seafood feast! If you like seafood, you must try this restaurant. Serve was good, food was extremely delicious, prices are reasonable. We ordered combination of cold and grilled selection and had a hard time finishing it all. Great value and taste.

Some food is better than other. Mixed grill / grilled prawns / oysters were good. Scallops / plateau salad / crab cakes were edible, but average. Service was very nice. The waiter was cleaning the table without us even noticing that.

The Seafood Bar was the perfect restaurant for a memorable last night in Amsterdam. Their website was easy to navigate to make an online reservation. Later times were filled so we opted for a before 6 pm time. It was easy to locate on a 20 walk from our hotel. We arrived 15 minutes early and were seated in the spacious sleek interior with several levels ascending toward the rear of the dining area. There’s outdoor seating also. Caroline was attentive and pleasant with food arriving with perfect timing. The tasty starter had 3 crab cakes We ordered the king prawn with garlic and lemon with 7 delicious prawns. Green salad and crusty baguette completed the meal. We finished with a lemon tart and chocolate bavoroise dessert. Excellent service, food and ambiance. Highly recommend The Seafood Bar

I had a fantastic dining experience at The Seafood Bar in Spui! This popular restaurant is always bustling, so I highly recommend booking a table in advance. The Mixed Grill was a highlight, offering a delightful variety of fresh and tasty fish. I also recommend trying the Mussels (French Style), they were superb. Don't miss out on the side dishes like Sweet Potato Fries, Green Asparagus, and Calamari. Overall, a must-visit for seafood lovers!

This was a truly magnificent meal out in Amsterdam. We had a wonderful and very cute waiter named David who was very welcoming, polite and helpful. I had the mixed grill which was truly divine from start to finish with a huge selection of fresh seafood. My companion had the spaghetti vongole which was also delicious & freshly prepared. We paired this with a bottle of Riesling which really complimented the dishesWe were seated near to the kitchen & to see the chefs preparing the platters was truly amazing.I would recommend making a booking to avoid the disappointment of missing out on dining here....and if time allowed I would have gone again!A MUST if you enjoy seafood in a lovely casual but friendly environment.

First meal in Amsterdam. Brought the family for oyster cos' I remember having really good ones here back in 2017! Nice ambience with really attentive and friendly service crew. Food was okay though I thought some dishes could be less salty and the oyster 🦪 not as fleshy as I remember them to be.

It’s a beautiful place in lovely location. The staff were surprisingly friendly and always smiling. Prices are reasonable for a seafood restaurant. However, I wasn’t lucky choosing my order. It was fish and chips with green salad. The food was bland and I didn’t enjoy it.

I booked the Seafood Bar for a birthday dinner, and I have nothing but great things to say. The food was amazing and super filling. The staff was super friendly, especially Angelo, who made my sister’s and I’s birthday feel special. The atmosphere and the vibe to this place was also really cool and great for photos! Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

Went there for dinner. The place is very pretty and big. I ordered the mixed grill which was a lot for one person. But would have definitely love to try the cold platter too. Lobster bisque was really nice though. Would visit again!

We wanted to give a treat to my husband at this seafood restaurant. The seafood was tastefully prepared. I loved my calamari and lobster soup. The oysters, fish, prawns, mussels were well prepared. The desserts were good and my hubby got to blow his birthday candle (sparkle) on his Lemon Meringue Pie. It was a memorable moment for all of us. The price is on the higher end.

Went to The Seafood Bar on my last night in Amsterdam, and wish I had gone on the first night, because i would have gone again. It is a beautiful restaurant with a great hostess who greeted us upon arrival. We were quickly seated and greeted by our waitress, Kitti, who continued to take great care of us throughout our meal. I had the pumpkin ravioli in a sage butter sauce. My travel friend had the salmon with roasted carrots. We also had crab cakes for a starter. We shared all of dishes and did not leave anything behind. Neither of us ever clear our plates, but we certainly did on this visit. Everything was seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection.Please don't miss out on this special treasure if you are in Amsterdam. BUT DO MAKE A RESERVATION.Thank you to Kitti, the servers who delivered our drinks and food, the chefs who prepared our meals, and the great hostess for making our last meal in Amsterdam so very special.

Fantastic lunch in the oldest part of Amsterdam. Ample outdoor seating was perfect for a warm afternoon in a beautiful courtyard along the Spui. The inside is also spectacular with an open kitchen, live tanks for crustaceans, and elegant decor. They emphasize the freshness and quality of their ingredients, which are of course vital for seafood.Crab cake starter was delicious but subtly flavored to not overpower the freshness. Bread was served with a tasty herb butter, different from the usual accompaniment of mayo or plain butter.We split a massive, hearty Caesar salad with salmon, poached egg, and avocado.With multiple locations across Amsterdam, I highly recommend stopping in for lunch or dinner. Fairly priced for the quality of ingredients.

Saturday night and managed to score a late booking.Absolutely packed with guests and with several turnovers, the staff really had their work cut out for them - well done to the team!We had the grilled seafood platter, masterfully (perfectly) cooked on the hot plate and very fresh! A great choice for two to share.There were heaps of guests still waiting for tables when we left, a clear indication of the excellent food and service...

Amazing food, great atmosphere and our waiter LISANDRO was absolutely awesome. He made the experience even better. The seafood was so fresh. Must try the lobster soup, the fresh oysters and the seafood platter mix was ALL scrumptious. Highly recommend 👍

With all the reviews I came here with high expectations but was left just a little disappointed. The staff were excellent however, our host showed us to her favourite table for which I am very thankful for. But the food lacked flavour and maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes? It was also very crowded so maybe with a busy kitchen the quality may have dipped slightly. At any rate we would still like to give it another try at a later date, but the price should have warranted a much better meal.

I really don’t understand why so many people recommended this restaurant and even labelled it as a must in Amsterdam.The price is ridiculously high, I can accept that if the food is good, but the food is just okay and some of the seafood is not even fresh. The lobster soup is €15, only two small pieces of meat inside, and it tasted weird. I had much better lobster soup at Mouders.The whole atmosphere is very busy and noisy. At the end I paid around €120 including tips for a dinner for two. Definitely not worth the money. Wouldn’t come back, and if you plan to come, just save your money and stomach for other better restaurants.

Food, Service and Interior were great.We were a group of 12 people and were absolutely stoked. In advance I was in contact with their staff to organize the reservation, dietary restrictions, etc. and they were super helpful.In the restaurant we were treated great and the service was super fast and helpful. My hotel recommended this place, although I don’t like fish as food, but I do enjoy other seafoods. Upon arrival I was greeted by a high energy and friendly hostess, as I had a reservation she showed me to my table.I like the ambiance. Glancing at the menu and other tables to see what they ordered.I ordered oysters for appetizer, it was very fresh and flavourful.As I was enjoying the appetizer I overheard the table next to me are praising their fish dish, so I too decided to order that fish, I asked it to be deboned which they accommodated.I thought the fish was okay (personal preference). Presentation was simple yet elegant.I was excited for my favourite part, the dessert, I loved it. Bitter and sweet silky and oh so good.Service was very good, great ambiance.I will have to come back in the summertime.

I'm just a tourist from NYC, and honestly, I'm scratching my head over why this restaurant gets such rave reviews. If you're craving some fresh, top-notch seafood, don't bother coming here. We were really bummed out to find out we'd dropped almost 800€ on what seemed like frozen seafood. Plus, the place is packed during dinner, super noisy, and chilly too. The service? Ugh, don't even get me started. Trying to flag down a waiter for drinks or food was a real struggle, and when the food finally did come, it felt like forever. And let's talk about that lobster soup—yikes! Tasted like I was drinking straight from the beach, with all that sand. And get this, everything else? Yeah, not fresh. Turns out they're using frozen king crab legs, lobsters, and prawns. Can you believe it? With a 4.5-star rating on Google, I really didn't expect this kind of letdown. So disappointing.

We had a lovely evening in the Seafood bar. They have amazing seafood which you see in display.We had the mixed grill plate for two. The selection was great and tasty. The only downside was that the food did not arrive very hot at the table and cooled very fast. It was a pity for the great seafood to be eaten cold.

Excellent restaurant to recommend to seafood-lovers!The service from Annabelle was exquisite! She took care of our gluten-free dishes perfectly and showed top class of restaurant service. She was actively communicating with us without giving us feeling of being disturbed, but showing the perfect amount of care for the quality of food, comfort and atmosphere in the restaurant. She seemed to be genuinely interested in customers and their satisfaction of the restaurant service. The food was amazing and very inventive! Loved everything on "the seafood combination for two". Big applaud for the cooks and kitchen staffs! We are, again, deeply impressed by her service and we would loved to visit the restaurant again! It was our last night in London and we were looking forward to a memorable evening. The early dinner started well despite being told that two dishes were not available, one which was the cod and what we wanted to have. Service at first was acceptable until our waiter disappeared after serving our starters. We flagged down another waiter to place our mains order, and here is where it all went pear shaped. None of the dishes that we wanted were available. We had to settle for chips and mussels with the sauce that tasted more like wine than cream. When we complained about the mussels we were offered bread and told it was on the house. Our waiter then made his appearance and said he understands that we are having some issues. We were offered a 50% discount which left a further bitterness in my mouth. The compensation for a ruined evening £62.97 is quite insulting.

I had a great night here with a such fantastic dining experience. Servers here are helpful and nice. The seafoods are fresh and delicious. Which you shouldn't miss it! IWe ordered both cold one and the mixed grill. I can say the cold one is way better.Price is reasonable as they serving such good quality of seafoods. And the atmosphere there is fantastic.

Seafood Bar Amsterdam ReviewHitting a HomerunIt’s always problematic finding great restaurants in places with a lot of tourists. I’d done it before in places like Venezia and even here in Amsterdam, but this time, the pressure was on, as I was showing Amsterdam to my Vietnamese wife and she was hungry, so I could spend an hour getting off the beaten track. She is also the best cook I’ve ever known, which also makes her extremely picky and as always, she wants her hard-earned money to be well spent.I was also under time pressure, having arrived from Helmond by train around noon. So, I had to resort to Google Maps and its tourist derived reviews with all the pitfalls that entails.I found the Seafood Bar. It was relatively close, and the pictures and reviews seemed really good.From Beginning to end, this lunch and experience, could not have been better.The staff was attentive, without being annoying. The food was exquisite, perfect. We got the mixed grill for two, everything in it was perfectly done, perfectly seasoned and perfectly presented.The Albarino went perfectly with the seafood.All in all, I could not have hoped for a better outcome.Getting back to Helmond that evening where we were staying with long time friends, in recounting our experience, I was shocked to learn that the owner of the Seafood Bar, was the very same owner of “De Visscher Seafood” a place in the center of Helmond that had been my favorite and only seafood destination since the 1994.Thirty years later, sadly De Visscher is closed in Helmond, but the owner has expanded and knows his seafood.The price was good, in fact, in Austin, Texas or NYC, such quality and execution would cost twice as much.Give this place a try if you want a fantastic seafood experience. You won’t be disappointed.

Guys Kitti on the front is the nicest host I have ever met! Service is amazing, our waiter David was really nice! We had the grilled seafood for two! Right portion with couple of sides we had the fries and the grilled cauliflower. Over all great experience and great food! Their champagne is well priced too! They have an Oysters happy hour between 3-5 everyday! I am coming back tomorrow for the Fish and chips, the table next to me ordered it and it looked amazing!

Perfection from guiding you to the table until you leave. Seafood base ceviche and calamari are the best to have as a starter. King prawns are delicious. Mix grill is the best.

We had both mixed grill platters. The one with shells including lobster was more expensive normally but much better in quality. Overall a good experience, price was ok since we ordered wuote a lot.

As a visiting female solo diner my experience at The Seafood Bar was truly 5-star this week. I was warmly welcomed and found a great table despite it being busy. The food and drink were superb and the service by all staff, in particular Yanina, was friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend and shall certainly return on my next visit to Amsterdam whether alone or with friends. Thank you for making my experience such a pleasure as I was nervous eating out alone as a visitor to the city.
